Unfading

Total internal reflection is a phenomenon I discovered while researching the functions of lenses. It happens when light travelling through a lens bounces off a more reflective internal surface. I found the concept very interesting, and it made me wonder if it's possible for a small part of the light to remain permanently trapped inside the lens, like a memory of past images. This led me to explore the idea through the Unfading project, which uses lenses from a different era of photography. The project celebrates the marriage of old lenses and current landscapes, both affected by centuries of history and natural processes. The present infused with whispers from the past.
